Communication is the backbone of effective organizational management, as it ensures the alignment of organizational goals, fosters collaboration, and enhances employee morale (Brunsson & Sahlin, 2023). Effective communication within an organization promotes understanding, reduces conflicts, and increases overall productivity (Kaplan & Norton, 2023). Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB), one of Nigeria’s most prominent financial institutions, has established internal communication practices to facilitate smooth operations, strategic alignment, and employee engagement.
However, the effectiveness of communication can be influenced by factors such as organizational hierarchy, technological infrastructure, and the interpersonal skills of employees (Odediran et al., 2023). In regions like Borno State, where external factors such as security challenges and socio-economic instability affect business operations, communication becomes even more critical in ensuring business continuity and maintaining stakeholder trust (Olawunmi & Hamza, 2023).
This study will assess the communication strategies used by GTB in managing its operations in Borno State, evaluating their effectiveness in enhancing organizational management and overall performance.
Although GTB has implemented various communication strategies, it is unclear whether these strategies are fully effective in promoting organizational management in Borno State. The problem lies in the fact that ineffective communication can lead to misunderstandings, poor decision-making, and disengaged employees, which can undermine organizational performance. Without a clear understanding of how communication effectiveness impacts management processes, GTB risks facing operational inefficiencies and employee dissatisfaction. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of communication in organizational management at GTB in Borno State.
This study will focus on GTB’s communication strategies and their impact on organizational management in Borno State. Limitations include potential biases in responses from employees and the difficulty in accessing sensitive internal communication data.
